Nepal is facing a devastating humanitarian emergency following the catastrophic flash flood and debris flow along the Bhotekoshi–Trishuli river system, severely affecting communities in Rasuwa and Nuwakot.

Scale of the Disaster

According to the latest available information as of 29 August 2026, 5:30 PM

* 675 people have lost their lives
* 2426 people remain missing
* Thousands of people have been rescued and displaced
* Homes, roads, bridges and livelihoods have been severely damaged (NDRRMA)

Behind these numbers are families who have lost their loved ones, homes, livelihoods and sense of security.

National Disaster Management Network of Nepal (DiMaNN) is working closely with local governments, communities and humanitarian partners to support affected people. We are prioritizing the most vulnerable, including children, older people, women, persons with disabilities, pregnant women, and families who have lost their homes and livelihoods. We are also particularly concerned about school-going children who have lost their parents or are unable to continue their education.

In addition to immediate humanitarian assistance, DiMaNN is preparing to provide psychosocial counselling and emotional support to survivors and affected families.

We humbly appeal to kind-hearted individuals, Nepali communities at home and abroad, businesses, humanitarian organizations, INGOs, NGOs, donors, development partners and friends of Nepal worldwide to extend a helping hand to the affected communities.
