DiMaNN Chairperson Mr. Surya Bahadur Thapa and DiMaNN Advisor Mr. Shailendra Khanal, former Inspector General of the Armed Police Force, Nepal, met with Mr. Hari Dharel, Honorary Consul General of Denmark in Kathmandu.

The discussion focused on the damage caused by the Rasuwa–Bhotekoshi flood, Nepal’s broader disaster risks, the impacts of climate change, and rehabilitation and reconstruction needs. The DiMaNN delegation requested diplomatic facilitation through the relevant embassy to explore Danish government support for recovery and reconstruction, while encouraging renewed development cooperation with Nepal, building on Denmark’s previous assistance.

The meeting also provided an opportunity to share DiMaNN’s activities and discuss potential areas of cooperation in disaster risk reduction and recovery.
